This superbly restored farmhouse, set in an enclosed garden is the perfect setting for one or two families plus a gaggle of children and babies to enjoy a child friendly holiday in France. The house is great and unbelievably well equipped. It is so nice to find phone chargers, tool kits, etc. Also, it makes a big difference to find the odd useful food item in the cupboards rather than completely bare as in many other self-catering properties. Jack really appreciated all the ride-on toys and different books to read. When he asked for a paddling pool I thought I’d better check if there was one before dismissing it out of hand and lo and behold there was, as well as the sun tent to shade him while he was in it! A stunning Béarnaise farmhouse, complete with many of its original features, it has been renovated to a very high standard. The traditional French kitchen - overlooked by a galleried landing - sports a fantastic `La Cornue` cooker and is well kitted out for preparing family meals. The sitting/dining room area has a pine dining table, which seats eight, and two sofas arranged around a large wood burning stove - ideal for snuggling up with a good book or a DVD after the children have gone to bed. Downstairs, there is a large and airy double bedroom with luxurious en-suite bathroom. Upstairs, the spectacular galleried landing warrants a moment to enjoy the fabulous views. Here there is a second `grown-up` bedroom whilst the twin room next door makes an ideal bolt hole for the children. Two additional beds can be set up on the mezzanine area if required. A new shower room and separate WC provide ample washing facilities for all the family.  Baby and Toddler Friendly!

This area of France provides a rich seam of things to do - from skiing in the winter to beach combing or boogie boarding in summer. Buy a picnic from the local market or relax by one of the two local pools - the choice is endless and will allow you to decide how active you want your holiday to be. A local waterpark plus two local swimming pools will ensure that there is plenty to keep the children amused. Other local activities include golfing, fishing, walking, trekking and canoeing, not forgetting the local restaurants and cafés. The low cost airlines have some terrific deals to airports such as Pau and Biarritz, so book early and make use of the convenience that is on offer.
