A true family house filled with charm Sleeps up to 8 With views over the vineyards or the lovely enclosed pool, the trickiest decision that you will make all holiday is where to sit and enjoy your glass of wine! Designed with the needs of a family in mind, La Maison Verte's pool is in the enclosed rear garden which also has a large barn conversion full of toys to keep the children playing happily out of the sun. Once the heat of the day has passed, the glass French doors can be opened up onto a small sun-drenched terrace where the children can play safely whilst you enjoy the views of the vineyards and the rolling countryside beyond. La Maison Verte is exceptionally well suited for a family or two with young children. As with all our Tots Approved houses, this house is fully equipped from the utility room to the kitchen and throughout the rest of the house. "It was a superb holiday, the house was great, the area was great, the weather was great, your service was great - we would go back in a flash. On the way home, Martha (4) asked if we could live in France all the time! If only..." Sarah, mum of 2 The Living Accommodation This 5 bedroom house (two doubles, one twin and two singles plus cots) is split into 3 separate sleeping areas as well as the large sitting room, study and kitchen/dining room, giving all the family plenty of space. The facilities in the house were brilliant – the toy barn, endless books, toys, board games, Lego, outside ride on toys and inflatable’s were all brilliant and kept the little ones amused. A well equiped kitchen included everything you take for granted in your own home, but rarely find on holiday - la Maison Verte is different - it had everything. Pilcher family, June 2010The original part of the house is the old farmhouse and retains much of its original character. The 18th century stone fireplace provides a stunning focal point for the comfortable and spacious sitting room, whilst terracotta floors and beams give you a hint of its past. The farmhouse kitchen is well equipped with everything that you take for granted at home, including a good selection of family cookery books. In this part of the house there are two bedrooms upstairs (a double and a twin) and a single room downstairs - perhaps for a nanny or a grandparent. The pristine family bathroom in this part of the house is downstairs. Through the sitting room and into the `newer` part of the house are 2 further modern bedrooms (one double and one with small double bed designated as a single)with designer en-suite shower rooms. The Children`s Corner This stunning barn conversion has your children`s needs in mind. Not only is it fully equipped with toys but it also means that your children can play safely out of the sun. The double doors lead out to a secure terrace area where the views of the vineyards can be enjoyed. The Study The study has broadband access allowing you to keep in touch, or provides the ideal setting for a few hours of peace and quite perhaps with a good book and a glass of wine. Alternatively this room could be used for a cot. Outside The great thing about this house is the choice of outdoor space. French doors lead out from the kitchen to a small enclosed terrace and garden area equipped with outdoor furniture. This terrace is shaded by palm trees and enjoys the views across the small road to the vines. It is also within easy reach of the children`s corner allowing the children the freedom to find and play with the toys. From a safety perspective, this terrace is entirely separate from the rear garden and pool. Behind the house and in the enclosed garden is the alarmed and heated pool. The pool is accessed by lockable double doors from the back of the house. When the pool is not in use, these doors need to be kept locked and the key kept out of reach of small children. The garden has a summer kitchen complete with a full set of plastic cups, plates etc and a drinks fridge so that you will not have to go far to reach a chilled drink!
A note about pool heating: If you are visiting La Maison Verte in the cooler months (generally mid-September to end of April), you may want the pool to be heated. The pool heating cost has not been included in the price of the property for 2009.
