Click here to find out about the what is on offer at Le Manoir. What we think... Named originally after the grapes that are used to produce the champagne, this gite is set in a charming period Manor house. Reached via an idiosyncratic stairwell, it is a first floor apartment within Le Manoir itself. You arrive directly into the beautifully decorated open plan sitting and dining area which gives you a hint of what lies in the bedrooms and bathroom beyond. The master bedroom has a glamorous four poster bed and large-screen TV and the luxury bathroom - with double basins, clawfoot bath and separate shower - add wow factor as do the views over the gently rolling countryside. The apartment has a further twin bedroom and a small, yet functional kitchenette that houses everything that you would need to prepare meals for your hungry family. There is no doubt that this gite has been very carefully thought out for a family and features all that you would expect from a Tots Approved property - from stairgates to potties and steriliser. The gite comfortably sleeps 4, two adults and two children, and there is a quiet corridor area which is where parents tend to choose to put the cot. Access to the apartment and to the garden is through a separate hallway with a flight of stairs. "We have just returned from a truly memorable holiday in France. Travelling with a baby is not easy, but knowing that you will have everything you may need at your disposal on arrival at your accommodation makes life a lot less stressful. Grant and Sandra will provide everything, from sterilising equipment to pushchairs if required so if you are not taking a car your excess baggage can be substantially reduced!" Joanne, mum of 1 holidayed at Le Manoir Champagnois in 2007

Some of the windows are low and when opened wide present a hazard to small children. Catches have been fitted to stop the windows from being opened wide but parents must take extra care to ensure that catches are used and children supervised. Outside The two gites are within the grounds of this beautiful manor house, a house that has, amongst other things, been used as a snail farm and was occupied by the Germans during the 2nd world war. The grounds of the Manoir are a perfect setting for a family holiday; they include a fabulous orchard from which the owners produce their own blend of apple juice and they enjoy almost unending views over Champagne`s gently undulating countryside. A `promenade nature` within the grounds provides a route through the long grass and wild flowers giving children the freedom to career around and explore within a safe and secure environment. Alternatively, take a dip in the large splash pool, play in the sand pit or choose your sunny spot in the garden, sip your champagne and watch the children fly in and out of the apple trees. Holidaying here will be a true delight! And Beyond... The village is as rural and as French as it gets and there in lies its real charm. The bread man toots his horn (almost) daily to alert you to his tantalising array of fresh pains au chocolate and croissants, creating a hub bub of activity which otherwise ebbs and flows with little other than the gentle chug of a tractor. If a change of pace is what you are after then Le Manoir Champaignois could be the answer. This lesser discovered region of France is without doubt worth the quick hop over the Channel to explore. If the bubbly itself and the allure of rest and relaxation is not enough then why not visit the local markets, pretty villages and beautiful countryside? This countryside is ideal for walking with a pram or cycling along the miles of farm track that lead straight from the door. There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy here too: deer, buzzards and many other animals co-exist with man in this most gentle of landscapes. The area is also remarkable for its history, most notably during the first and second world wars. Relics of this era are many and demand a moment or two of reflection. Mention must be made to one of the region`s greatest hits - Disneyland! This is without doubt a `must-do` for those with kids and is only 90 minutes away by car.
