Should I be worried about booking my holiday on-line in the light of the collapse of companies such as XL?
It is certainly worth being cautious although the current problems are mainly in the airline sector owing to the high cost of fuel. We are neither a package holiday retailer nor a tour operator; we specialise in your accommodation only. As we are specialists in this one area, you will book your own flights, ferry, insurance and car-hire separately. This spreads your risk as if any one element fails then the remainder should still be in place.
Could I get ‘stuck abroad’ if I booked through Tots to Travel?
The only way this would happen is if the airline you booked with ceased to trade. This would have nothing to do with Tots to Travel as we only sell accommodation. How do I know that you exist?!

Yes. We pass on your payment to the Owner of the property the same week that we receive it. So if you are booking now for a holiday next year, your deposit will be paid now to the Owner. This means that even if Tots to Travel were to cease trading, your accommodation will still be secure because the Owner will have been paid. We would simply provide you with all their details and your holiday should still go ahead. How can I protect myself?
We offer the option of paying by credit card (although we have to add a 2% charge for this owing to the fees involved). Your credit card details are not stored by us; we use one of the world’s largest on-line payment systems using their secure (https) servers so that your payments are completely safe. We also recommend that you take out an annual travel insurance policy that has an extensive cancellation cover. What about ABTA and ATOL protection?
ABTA provides customers of large providers of package holidays with protection through a bond; as we are not a package operator then this cover is largely redundant and we would have to raise our prices considerably to offset the cost of this cover. ATOL cover flights only and as we do not retail flights then this is not relevant to Tots to Travel. What are the benefits of booking through Tots to Travel?
Expertise, detailed knowledge, advice, assurance, your own customer service manager, varied and secure payment options, support throughout your booking, holiday and return, local agents, great deals…..as we visit every property we feature, we are the only agency that can offer you all this. So why not book direct with an Owner?
Not all properties are available direct, and of those, how do you filter which one will suit you and your family? We have visited many properties that we have not allowed onto our site. Can you risk it with your family holiday? Recent articles in the Travel Press have highlighted the advantages of booking through an expert agency such as Tots to Travel. We provide you with a pre-filtered selection of high-quality properties, advice, support and back-up that you would not get by booking direct. We reduce the risk that your precious family holiday does not live up to your expectations.
Are all Agencies the same?
Tots to Travel started as Tots to France back in 2005; since then, other companies have emulated what we do but none to our high standards. We visit EVERY property, we carry out a full assessment for safety (using a system created in association with CAPT – the Child Accident Prevention Trust), and we advise Owners on how to provide you the best equipment and service. We are NOT an advertising portal; it takes many weeks for an Owner’s property to be processed and we turn away as many as we accept. We also provide you with exceptional levels of customer service – you will have your own service manager – to support you right up until you get back from your holiday. So no, not all websites are the same – make sure you look for all these things before booking! Where can I get more information?
